Blair Gifford, PhD - Professor of International Health Management in the Business School and the School of Public Health at the University of Colorado, Managing Director of the MBA/Sustainability program and Founder of the Center for Global Health
Dr. Blair Gifford is a Professor of International Health Management in the Business School and the School of Public Health at the University of Colorado, USA. He is also the Managing Director of the MBA/Sustainability program and Founder of the Center for Global Health. He was a visiting professor at Yale’s School of Public Health during the 2008-2009 academic year, and continues to lecture for Yale in their Global Heath Initiative in Africa and China. At present, Dr. Gifford is a New Century Scholar at the US State Department (Fulbright) for 2009-2010. Dr. Gifford’s current research efforts include: a comparative study of the impacts of global medical travel on poorer populations (India, Mexico, and Brazil) and an education project to internationalize health administration education. Previously, Dr. Gifford worked at Northwestern University, the American Hospital Association, and IBM. He has a PhD from the University of Chicago, USA, and a BSc from the University of California, USA. Dr. Gifford and his team were recently in Haiti working on a project and were on the last flight out of Haiti prior to the devastating earthquake.
